Monday mornings tend to be hard on us; after a lovely weekend, we are pulled back to our daily rituals (in my case: my office desk).
One way to relieve the stress is daydreaming, and some planning for a future weekends. Since it's a lovely summer, and we're expecting great weather - I'm thinking about a party.
This is a guide we're using!
Pimm's is a brand of fruit cups, but may also be considered a liqueur.
Pimm, a farmer's son from Kent, became the owner of an oyster bar in the City of London, near the Bank of England. He offered the tonic (a gin-based drink containing a secret mixture of herbs and liqueurs) as an aid to digestion, serving it in a small tankard known as a "No. 1 Cup", hence its subsequent name.
A fascinating archive of vintage adverts showing the birth of the so-called 'Pimm's party' has emerged to mark the launch of the drink's first new flavour in 190 years; and I managed to catch them. :)
The adverts date back to the 1950s when the economy took a nosedive after the Second World War and many people socialised at home to save money.
It is thought the marketing team behind the gin-based drink realised this and launched the idea of a Pimm's party as a way to encourage sales of the beverage.
So, shall we have a party?
You've set the tables, your guest are here, they mingle and everythignis smooth. But, every party looks the same, unles you find the way to make it memorable!
Just in case you lack originial ides on entertainment..
There we go - everthing is set for sucsess!
If anyone tries out this party before I do (and the probability for this is quite large, since major part of my friends is absent), let me know how it went down.
Have a wonderful and inspiring week!!!
